Our story

Founder: Dawn Adams

“In lockdowns, I turned to my imagination to see the world differently.

I soon discovered that my imaginings made me smile, laugh, be more optimistic.

That’s when I began my research and learnt there was so much more.”

“If we harness the power of imagination, what might we achieve?”

- Dawn Adams

The journey begins

Dawn Adams founded Imagination Session® in 2022 after discovering its benefits for wellbeing in the isolation of Covid 19 lockdowns. That was the beginning of a journey that led her to examine imagination much more broadly; through the lens of psychologists, philosophers, neuroscientists, educators and even business analysts.

She was beginning to ‘see’ the power we each hold within. Imagination is our innate ability to be us, our unique selves. And when we foster and grow our imaginative fitness, we empower ourselves to shape futures that are bold, ambitious, and caring for us all.

Research

Her research has led her to places she’d never before dreamed; she secured a Griffith University Industry Fellowship in recognition of her research, was named a Knowledge Partner at Humans of Purpose and appointed an advisory board member for Inclusive Futures: Reimagining Disability. She commends all these organisations for their extraordinary and important work and is grateful for the opportunity to make a contribution to their efforts.

Dawn is also a speaker, an imagination coach, happiness coach, educator and writer. A graduate of UTS and USQ, she has also taken short courses from many other universities and institutions in her pursuit of lifelong learning.

Her mission

Her mission now is to share imagination with as many as possible, to help make our everyday lives lighter, happier, more content while encouraging an ambition to create better futures for us all through our dreams.
